I’m meeting BFC at 1630 at the Cross Keys White Notley for an Assington Assault before the Swan if anyone wants to join?

I'm not as up to speed as I ought to be on my Urban Dictionary but is it possible to have more than two people involved in an Assington Assault ?

More to the point, what are you going to do for dinner ?

I promised to buy BFC dinner before the Assington Assault

He'll be putty in your hands after such TLC.  Be gentle with the man, he is a pensioner you know!

The Swan at Totham will be a pleasant 25km from Cletus's Camp and 35k from Tomsk Towers - feel free to ECE to 600 if that is not enough for either of you though.

Cletus, just a word of warning - the Swan has working heaters in its tent.  They are quite safe and no black magic is involved so no need for alarm.

I'll cycle over to Spa Rd for 7.00 ( or is it 7.30??) Otherwise Totham is a bit too short a run from Tiptree!

There's a chance I might not be at the roundabout by 7pm so crack on without me. I have managed to bring forward my 2nd COVID jab to 5pm today in South Woodham Ferrers plus we're on hols tomorrow and Friday and I have a 5hit load of work to get done beforehand.

The Anchor at Nayland is about 1km closer to Tomsk Towers than the SH is to Dirk's Digs.  Quite a bit of their beer garden is taken up by a plastic tent that doesn't count as outdoors though.  Not sure it is that viable.

How about:

Wed 2nd - Swan at Totham

Wed 9th - Shoulder of Mutton (42km from Tomsk Towers) (has it got covered outdoor tables Josser ?), somewhere central with a covered beer garden or an EER/WW split with EER re-visiting the Alma (33k from Tomsk Towers).

Wed 16th - Cross Keys HP (hopefully to mark the end of Level 3)

Wed 23rd - SH (hopefully to celebrate being indoors again)

I like the return of the forward planner!! Can't do tonight or 16th but if we are doing EER/WW split on 9th, can we do something further East as Alma is still quite East for me! Anyone from the West up for that?

SH on the 23rd looks good either way...

How far further East were you thinking?

But in seriousness, somewhere much further away from the North Sea would suit me on 9th. I'd not be out late mind, as I'm away from the Thursday evening onwards.

Which begs the questions which are the most northerly, easterly, southerly and westerly pubs in an area which could be reasonable labelled as Mid-Essex?  Discuss

The Assington Assault is not happening this week...
You can’t just call time out and stroll on into the beach if you don’t like the way things are goin’.

What's the plan this week? A central location, or a great divide?

The first venue I visited on a MEMWNS was in Hatfield Broad Oak. Just saying  :)
