If you wanted to meet at Chelmsford like before - I've got something like a 20 mile loop that goes past the Viper and also the Wheatsheaf.

I think we have a plan! :)  I should be there around 19:00.

All I need now are the legs to follow it through :)

Take no prisoners токамак old chap  ;D

It's goign to be a tag-team style annihiliation of Oaky isn't it - токамак will soften me up en-route as a lead-out man for bobb who will finish me off in the pub.  :o

Think I might get the Dave Yates out for this one. It's been in the shed since the end of March - there's a bit of fettling for tonight...

Chelmsford Station, 19:00 tomorrow evening it is then.

Noooooo, get your posh bike out.  The one where you have to wear a funny hat.  If you're going to do a job do it properly!

Nah, Dave Yates will be great. So here's our route, Oaky: Google Maps

22mph average - we can be at the pub just after 8, bobb. ;)

The final run from Edney Common to the roundabout at Writtle is the best bit - proper sprint finish. :D

Will be spin-tastic on our fixers, what's your gear Oaky?

You need a bigger gear than that, Oaky!

You can beat him on "The speed run", just sit on his wheel and  power past in the last 50 metres. He always wants to lead out...

I bet a pickled egg on Oakey winning!!  ;)

We're closely matched then, the DY is running 67.8" - 700x23 with 49 x 19. I reckon your bike might be lighter, unloaded.

I always lead out because no c*nt is prepared to pick the pace up! That's why I joined the Chelmer. :P A friend of ours would stay on my wheel all the way from the Viper as I gradually wound it up, then power off for the line in the last 100m.

The ride or the post race drinking contest  :o

Hoping to be along, though I'm starting to become convinced that Wednesday night is when the majority of train issues happen  >:(

Eitherway I'll be doing the slow scenic route to Writtle and shall leave the racers to it  :P

I like the way your receipt just says "magazine".  Very discreet.

I wonder how many people in India eat pasties? And more importantly, ones that contain beef?!!!

I too am wondering about the simple "Magazine" on the receipt  :P

The Dave Yates is fully fettled and in effect - I've been out for a short spin, beautiful!

Chief, you should ride with us, we'll keep it civilised, although it will be gloves off for the last few miles back to Writtle. ;)
