La Pendleton in the Guardian
« on: 28 July, 2009, 01:00:39 pm »
Article about track racing taster sessions in the Guardian.  The reporter got to ride with Victoria, though I think that's not normally an option.
And they reprint that photo.

"Just get up onto the wood" indeed :)
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

On the other hand, they also put this in the CiF:
Not the last Tour de Lance | Robert Weintraub
While the basic premise (Lance wasn't as prepared for this tour as for those that he won) is correct, so many of the details aren't (correct) it's astounding.  He even links to a story that contradicts him!

And commenting is turned off.  Grrr.

There was only one thing wrong with the Pendleton articles.  They were too short. :)

Edited for spelling.

The Mildenhall Club president was in our pub on Sunday, and said that it is likely that Victoria will be at the Mildenhall Rally - her dad runs the grasstrack racing.

Did I ever mention that she used to come to our evening MTB rides where I would chase her shapely asre try to keep up through the singletrack.  :smug:

Right. That's it. I'm going to try and pull her.

I will almost certainly fail, but I'll give it a go. She might not be too keen on cheap, small tents.

There's always the car park though  :P
Those wonderful norks are never far from my thoughts, oh yeah!

Mate, without racing you'll have no chance. Entries close in just over a weeks time (actually, you can  enter on the day too). You'll need a BC racing license though, just like the one I have in front of me right now, with my name on. If she's handing out the medals I feel compelled to win something! Is there a cycling equivalent of the egg and spoon race? ;)

She's stated many times that she doesn't go for blokes involved in cycling. You may as well tear up your license now.

I did once say "Hello" to her a few years ago at HH, so I think I'm in  ;)

Pah! At the Student Champs several years ago I held her up on the start-line. I think my thumb may just have brushed her thigh. Accidentally, of course. Well ,nothing provable   :P
Working my way up to inferior.

That just narrows down which day she's likely to be there.  ;)
