When do you change a TR tyre
« on: 24 June, 2024, 07:17:28 pm »
Had to plug a tyre after a tiny hole kept unsealing in the heat when stationary ( orange sealant ) it now looks like this

https://ibb.co/Qp30hzm

The tyre is otherwise fine . I first used low pressure and let the plug at the bottom so the sealant could melt it - but when I pumped the tyre back up it blasted out and sprayed sealant everywhere

I’ve plugged it again obviously but even though the hole was small it’s now a bit bulged ,

Will it wear to normal . Is my tyre buggered ?

I’m not really in a position to buy tyres just now and on the 20.5mm internal rims some 25s don’t even fit so even if was able I’m scared to try something that isn’t Vredestein

Hmm Imgbb seems to be the “go to” service - notes to self to use the embed code

Nothing else for me on the page, but I'm using a proper browser and a VPN that blocks ads.

Anyway, yes plug it and you'll usually never think about it again. Or you might...I just had one that spat the plug three times. I added another alongside the fourth one and it held a good while....before spitting one of them out! If this happens the cheapskates' option is to remove the tyre, dry the area, patch with a vulcanising patch and allow to dry before reinstalling. In my case I also filled the outer hole with Stormsure adhesive.

It's been fine since
