Fun pubs.
What were they? Our student union summarised them as "the only fun you'll have is trying to stay alive once you're inside".
-
Bee Gees specialist venues, obviously.

White crunchy dog eggs. They were a constant in my youth, and although many dog emptiers clean up after their mutts these days, there are still plenty of the selfish twat variety that the pavements are not clean of dog droppings.

Bone meal.
Dog food used to consist mainly of ground up bone. Not so much today.

What the hell is a “fun pub”?
No, don’t tell me - it sounds like I’m better off not knowing.

I have vague recollections of some pubs rebranding themselves as ‘fun pubs’ while some others tried to brand themselves as ‘family pubs’ and even went to the trouble of building on indoor playgrounds. I avoided them mostly.

Is that like building on a cemetery? I've seen Poltergeist, I know how this goes.

I've also no idea what the 'fun pub' might be – sounds a bit like creche at the bookies.
-
Sounds like an Alison Bechdel graphic novel.

I never dared go in one but I think it was a euphemism for "the lease has 12 months to run, we've been dropped by the brewery, we serve whatever we can buy off the back of a lorry, we have a pool table and fruities, and we'll turn a blind eye to unlicensed betting or the odd fight".
