Banana and Pumpkin curry from the vegan "another meal is possible" cookery book
It's a good book, don't get me wrong
But one recipe is not good

I had a Jamaican curry a few weeks ago that included banana. It was OK, in a "different" sort of OK, but I wouldn't recommend it either

Aldi have a recipe on their site at the moment for ham wrapped bananas baked in a Stilton and paprika sauce. It looks just awful.

Eek. Shouldn't that be plantain? With is pretty much tasteless lumps of stodge anyway. I know, I was served a stew once that seemed to consist solely of big lumps of plantain in a watery red sauce. That was hard work to get through.

I have a recipe for green banana satay, which is nice.

I am no fussy eater, I will eat just about anything once.
But banana does not cook well for me. One of my few food dislikes.

I have a recipe for banana and spaghetti curry, I think its quite tasty. Not made it for a while, I should try it again sometime.
Best with fairly green bananas, so its not too sweet or soft.

The only banana recepie I know thats any good other than banana cake is to slit them and stuff the slit with chopped up Mars bar then wrap in foil and BBQ.

I peel old bananas, place in a bowl with a few chocolate chips, microwave for a minute per banana, mash and serve with ice cream...
My 'seasonal specials' thread a few months ago had some pretty pukeworthy manufactured inclusions...

plantains sliced, fried and salted, maybe a bit of masala are OK. Otherwise, just pointless carby lumps
