Title: It's not about the bike.
Post by: Somnolent on 30 April, 2018, 07:00:39 pm
#1 sprog competed in his first Sprint distance triathlon over the weekend, and despite claiming to be 'out of shape' came in 7th in 1h09.
Not half bad considering his bike is a rather well used and abused one of these:

Carreras are ok.  It's Apollos that are landfill-in-waiting.

Don't think they sell them any more but H used to have a brand that was sub Apollo called Trax.

An ex-employee told me they didn't bother to fix them under the warranty, just swapped them and threw the duffers in the skip . . .

I don't know  ,apollo can be annoying but putting him in landfill seems a little harsh  :D

That bike would be considered smart compared to some of the mtbs used in triathlon in this part of the world!!

That said, the serious guys do have serious kit (almost as flash as some cycletourists :o )
