My Samsung Galaxy S4 has bricked
« on: 13 August, 2017, 08:23:06 am »
It just dies after some use.  Showed similar symptons a while back but a replacement battery sorted this.   Not this time.   :(

Looking at replacements.  S7 is favourite atm.

I know it isn't anywhere near as cool - but my Motorola Moto G has been amazeballs. ~£150 ballpark.

Thanks for the tip.

Unfortunately the list is relatively short as I have tried a number of phones to find the ones with screens that I find 'easy on my eyes'*.   Of those I have now found a deal that I am happy with online and pressed the penury button.

By tomorrow evening I should be back up and running, accessible to clients, friends and family alike, and, hopefully without worry of techno-isolation for another three or four years.   By then I hope that the next big step in personal tech will have been taken and there will be less need for me to actually read bloody screens!

* As my sight is deteriorating so small screens are getting more and more difficult to use.

A 4 inch screen is too small for me.

S7 is now excellent value, and still a really good phone. I have one (could you guess?) and I'm pleased with it. Also, you can use a GearVR for giggles and it really is fascinating.

Went to Tesco after the contract expired on my last phone and asked what their deal would be on an iPhone.  The young whippersnapper straight out of school looked at my usage stats and said I'd be wasting my money paying for one as it's all about status 'n' stuff.  So I ended up with a Moto G4. Who'd have thought?
