Audax England jerseys - 2014 order book is open!
« on: 03 April, 2011, 10:02:49 pm »
After what is probably the most democratic shirt design process in the history of cycling, orders are now being taken for the Audax England jersey.

For anyone who hasn't seen it,the design is in this thread:

Audax England jerseys - update

Working out the pricing is quite tricky but I've based it on covering my costs at 35 orders, with an allowance for postage, etc.  Owaya prices are all quoted in Euros, so I've based the prices on last week's exchange rate and am praying that it holds around that level until the end of the month.  The price includes UK postage. If you're abroad, PM me for a quote.

Short sleeved jerseys in summer weight are £37
Long sleeved jerseys in summer weight are £40
Long sleeved jerseys in winter weight are £50

All jerseys have a concealed full zip.

Sizes available are 2XS, XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL and 5XL.  Sizes of 3XL and larger cost £4 extra due to the additional material.  My experience is that the sizings are on the "snug" side.  If you can, it's worth finding someone who already has an Owaya jersey so you can compare. There's plenty of time to try before you buy as I'll keep orders open until the end of April.

Delivery is 3-4 weeks after I place the order, so about 8 weeks from now.

To order, you can use PayPal, BACS or cheque.

To use PayPal please send the total as a "personal payment owed" to rob.mcivor@me.com and add on £1 to cover the PayPal fee.

Please include the following:

Forum name
Real name
Address for postage
Jersey size
Jersey sleeve length (SS or LS)
Material if long-sleeved (summer or winter)

Please remember to add £4 for sizes of 3XL and above.

If you'd prefer to pay by BACS or cheque, please PM me and I can give you the appropriate details. In both cases I'll need your full name and address details as well as your order.

I will take orders up to April 30th. No orders without payment, please.

Thanks to Fidgetbuzz, AndyH, Tewdric and Rogerzilla for advice along the way so far.  If I had realised that my innocent question about the lack of an Audax England jersey would have led me here...... I would have asked anyway  ;)

Owayo have commented that they are receiving an unusually high level of demand for samples.  If you're unsure about which size to order, this link may help instead

The guidance on here is pretty good in my experience.

My local club use Owaya for its kit and very good it is too. Had you thought about adding wind tops and or gilets to your order? If I remember correctly when we last ordered club kit we added some wind jackets to make up the min order. I can recomend them for cold days or cool nights. they are not water proof but do keep the wind out.

I have a long sleeved summer YACF jersey - dead comfy. Ordered a short sleeved one of these last night.

This is a really nice idea but I think, given that this is the first time I've done this, I'd prefer to walk before trying to run.  As it is, pricing up three options and factoring in the variables if there are insufficient orders leaves me a bit exposed financially so I don't fancy offering even more options.  BUT if this run goes well enough for another order later in the year, then why not?

Bloody hell -

my two sample shirts arrived today.

I am not the biggest of guys and I would expect to be a nice snug fit in a medium.
Owayo's medium is absurdly tight  - even tho I am at the top of the chest measurement for a medium - but I would NEVER EVER wear a medium with comfort.

So if you know me - take due warning Rog needs a large in Owayo sizing.

I only know of two male members (oo-er) who fit a medium jersey.  L is really the starting point for those with no significant beer gut.

Winter jerseys may need to be a size bigger because of the relative lack of stretch.  I would not want to try and get into an L winter jersey, but an L summer jersey is just right.

I wear a medium & I'm 5'4" around the 10 stone mark at the mo, 37.5" chest & worryingly a 35.5" belly (fat b*st*rd) if you're any bigger than me you'd want the large  :)

I've had a few inquiries about changing sizes, etc. from orders already placed.  There's no problem with this up until I place the actual order with Owayo at the end of the month.  Nearer then, I'll produce a list of all orders so that you can check that I've got it right.

I think I've acknowledged all orders placed up to last Saturday.  If you've placed an order since then, don't worry - I just haven't had any time on my home computer since the weekend to go through them all!  You will receive an acknowledgement in the next few days.

Remember - orders open until the end of the month.  One chance only!
