Younger daughter, off to her first day at Cancer Research UK, has had a voicemail to say that the induction has been cancelled. She'd just got on a train so will get off it again v. soon.

There's about 5 inches here. I'm all excited! The cat was very confused this morning.

Hopefully the trains will be completely knackered so I can be really late for work
Those wonderful norks are never far from my thoughts, oh yeah!

It's as deep in Mid-Hampshire as I can remember it (but that's still not very deep).

I need to go and get a photo of a certain fishing hut at some point as I'm trying to get photos of it in as many conditions as possible.  I think the bike may be out of the question.

Here it is (not today obviously), hopefully I should be able to get a stunning one today, would be a shame not to take the opportunity.

It's been 38 degrees today and was about the same over the weekend  . Some snow would be a very attractive diversion right now

The road is so slippery that I don't think I'll bother today.

I'm watching the emails come into work saying that people won't be into the Lab, mine included!  We've got a good foot or more of snow in Croydon.  I don't think the cats impressed, but he's gone back to bed.  The foxes track from last night has disappeared under the snow, as has most of the garden.

I can't see any sensible way to get into work, since the Trams, Underground, and Buses all seem to be totally, or largely buggered.  The trains are probably also buggered, but as others have said, the websites relevant appear to be suffering.  I could take the mudguards of Sid the Singlespeed, and let the tyres down, but frankly I can't be arsed, just so that I can attempt a 12 mile cycle, with car drivers who probably shouldn't be out in these conditions.

So, three (four?) day weekend then!
Actually, it is rocket science.

Outside the back door

I reckon that is getting on for a foot.

There are no trains running and the roads haven't been gritted at all.

Mr R has banned me from going out onna bike...  :(

The drivers that are out on the roads are acting like dicks and he's decided that I can't risk doing my shoulder again (or worse).

So it looks as though I'll have to haul on my boots and go for a trek instead.

Did you have to put snow tires on the MTB?  ;)

About 9" here in SW London. No trains, no tube (the one near me is overground), no buses.

Unfortunately I brought my laptop home so I can work from home.

I've just seen E off on the Piccadilly line. Service with delays they said. District completely stopped. Lots of people wandering about aimlessly. Daughter texted to say hardly any snow in E Devon, where I'm going in a while.

Been out with the dogs, took a few pics with the little camera.  Far too cold to be dragging the dSLR and tripod along.  Not many folks out though.  The black dog cut her foot and left a trail of red blobs all the way round.  The Goldies had huge clumps of ice between their toes, only the man complained, the woman just got on with it.

Tis snowing again.  I will go out on the MTB later if I can warm my toes and fingers enough.

On a good note, I got to wear my new ski pants.

Roads were pretty deserted where I am, so I went out for a ride. Did a couple of laps of Finsbury Park to see what it was like. It was this: Fun

Decided to wear my comedy winter hat too

Forgot there were speed bumps on my road. Amazing what snow does to your memory...
Just realised I have a pair of wellies. I'm going out again!!!!

Well, that wasn't what I was expecting.  Once on the major roads they were all pretty clear.  We've not had anything like you guys are getting.
However it is now coming down heavily.  Home time might be different.
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

Anyone on here fancy flirting with hypothermia? I would if I knew who she was.

Hmmm....

All

Circle lines
Hammersmith & City lines
Buses

In and out flights from Heathrow/Luton/London all suspended.

They've been saying it's gonna snow for a week yet no grit?
