resetting 810 to english
« on: 05 March, 2017, 09:19:58 am »
just when I thought my garmin 810 could do anything else to frustrate the hell out of me, I've managed to change the language. It now displays in some language I've never seen.any clues how to get English back.

If this piece of crap wasn't a present i'd take it in the garage and smash it with a large hammer....repeatedly

factory reset.

Power device off.
Press and hold Lap and Start/Stop.
Power device on while still holding both buttons.
Continue holding buttons when Garmin "splash" screen appears.
Release buttons when Garmin "splash" screen disappears.

Obviously you'll lose any data on the unit, and you will have to re-enter your settings, but it's probably less of a hassle than having to cycle to Dubrovnik

On the other hand, it's a good way to learn another language. 👍
I am often asked, what does YOAV stand for? It stands for Yoav On A Velo

Somewhat specialised vocabulary though, of limited use for the important things like ordering another beer or locating the pen of your aunt.
