Great collection, and air display this WE, to see; in spite of the weather. I'll leave it up to you to name the aircrafts, if you want to play.

It cost us £20 per adult for the day. Fabulous! The flights were all superb and we only missed the Spit' and a glider demo due to the weather conditions. A pity we met with the F1 crowd on the way back North though...

Not bad Clarion. Gabrielle had a great day; she was a bit scared when they were revving some of the engines, but there was no aeroengine so the noise was quite alright.

Didn't realise they were flying at Shuttleworth this weekend.  We were only a couple of miles from there yesterday, and I might have made the effort to go.

I was there just the weekend before last, it is impressive (if you are into old machinery).

I'd gone as part of the Jaguar Drivers Club XJ Day. I took this photo from 600ft in a Cessna.

Last year we were lucky, a Spitfire (as in the plane) owners club were having lunch there, and had a Mark IX flying.

In the museum there was also this four wheeled tandem - I'd love to have a go on it!

We do have a few shots of old cars, bikes and other engines as well... Plus the kids loved the running around in the grass. I found it was all very well organised and well priced, although the food was not very good. But that would be my only qualm!

I have some pix of Shuttleworth I can post when I get home tonight.

Superstoker really likes the Comet.  I've loved it for many years, but only saw it in the metal for the first time this year.

I have quite a few shots of the Comet. I like it too and only wished it would have flown. The Chipmunk demo was fan-tas-tic. The Lysander just came above the tree cover and then very low on the airfield. Some of the helicopter demo proved very impressive too. The noise of the various engines was just the best for me though, ranging from small high-pitch to deep, lazy large-engine sounds.

Pedant: It is not a tandem, it is a sociable. Tandem == in line.

My grandfather was an RAF chaplain at one point, and the lads took him up for a bit of a spin in a Chipmunk.

He enjoyed it in retrospect, but I don't think he was having fun at the time...

It's a favourite destination for the Js, even without looking round the planes.  The playground out back is first-class, and there's a large enough cafe to cope with all four fidgetting little folk.  Top option is to persuade Ma J to drive the brood over there while Pa J rides, and then Pa supervises mayhem while Ma goes for a run round Old Warden.  And the museum is there as a fall-back if the weather turns bad.

Sociable was what I was thinking, but didn't know it was the official designation. Whatever it's called, I want a go!
I wonder what stability would be like over bumpy and uneven roads, with four points of contact and no suspension (or is there?)

Is Ms Frenchie stood in front of an Avro 504k ?
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

It's a Hawker Cygnet. The 6 on the wing gives it away.

Oh - additions to what I put before:

I forgot my De Havilland numbers.  Comet was DH88; Tiger Moth DH82; Dragon Rapide DH90.

And there's a Lilienthal glider reproduction above the Comet.  Not sure about the other one, but it isn't a Pilcher or Cayley.

Tiger Moth & Anson are hiding behind the ?Demon (wish someone would confirm that - I can't Google for images from here, and it's niggling me...)

I went for a spin in a Chipmunk in about 1967 when I was in the air cadets at school.  We flew from either Topcliffe or Dishforth (can't remember which after all this time) but it was great.  The instructor let me have a little go myself and he flew me over my house in Headingley, Leeds, at no more than a few hundred feet.
