Neat.
I had been thinking of something like that (but it didn't occur to me that the lip could be filed off easily as shown) and so was wondering if the top Qr from the Brompton telescopic seatpost top bit would avoid the need for a file.
Perhaps reinforcing the Brompton frame so as overtightening can't damage it should be on their to do list...
