Kim, you are very bad!
Facebook comment on the awards reflects a widespread view that it's not so much the stations - more the trains - that need to be encouraged to improve cycle provision ...
And remember: The first rule of the cycle-rail awards is that it's never about bikes on trains!
Hi,Could you please consider adding a category to your awards in future years dedicated to provision of facilities on board trains? Your awards are heavily biased towards every part of a cycle rail journey that occurs off the train. It is likely that nomination for this category would be few initially as it is an area that desperately needs encouragement.RegardsSoretween
Or perhaps add a 'worst' award in which we can nominate TOCs that use the cycle space as overflow storage for the on-board refreshments. Or staff that refuse to remove able bodied people occupying the cycle spaces. Or staff that refuse to remove baggage from the cycle spaces. Or TOCs that only provide spaces too narrow for mountain bikes, too short for recumbent cycles or too everything for a hand trike. No actually a worst category is a bad idea, you'd be inundated.

^ This woman knows what she's talking about.
The Innovation award was presented to MerseyRail for its work in supporting cyclists during track replacements in the tunnel under the Mersey that connects the Wirral to the city centre. MerseyRail worked with Arriva North West to provide a “bike bus” service; a bus fitted with eight bike holders ran an hourly service between stations during the track renewal project.
Meanwhile, Transpennine Express took the award for Door to Door Journeys, Including Station Travel Plans. TPE has set out a “clear and actionable” plan for better integration between trains services and local transport services, said the judges. The operator has produced nine Station Travel Plans in the past year and is due to complete a further 10 in the next nine months.
TBF, that one seems a fairly worthy award:QuoteThe Innovation award was presented to MerseyRail for its work in supporting cyclists during track replacements in the tunnel under the Mersey that connects the Wirral to the city centre.
