A mildly amusing front page from 'The Sun' today with a picture of SH and JB with the Headline 'Supernove, smashing great' between them. If I could workout how to post a picture I would do, but I'm not going to provide a link to the sun

It's pictured here (near the bottom of the page): http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-the-papers-43410824

From this tribute thread on an alternate history forum:

Quote
I recall the occasion when Stephen Hawking was often asked if time travel was possible. In order to test the theory, he threw a lavish party, complete with Krug and expensive canapés, in 2009.

He didn’t send the invitations out until several weeks after the event had finished.

Surprisingly, no one turned up ...

He was also a life-long socialist and Labour supporter - he once said that one of his greatest regrets in life was 'not running over Mrs Thatcher's toes' in his wheelchair (he managed to do that to Prince Charles, however), and he recently said that he considered capitalism a greater threat to humanity than robots.

A truly great man.
