Yes, we had this one in 2015, from almost exactly the same spot, but today it wasn't raining up Sunwapta Pass in the Canuckistani Rockies :)

It's dramatic enough to deserve a second go even in the rain.

Little suspension footbridge in Lochmaddy, North Uist (excitingly marked as "dangerous" on OpenStreetMap; it felt safe enough to me!)

Today, it was raining.  And it's eight degrees outside (Fort St John, northern BC).  Still, there were Bridges:

Internet here in Muncho Lake BC are slower than a drugged-up slof, so I have had to squish today's pictures down to manky lo-res size to get the buggers to upload at all.  Soz.

Ooooh, saw that one on the telly during the Tour

Anyway, some MOAR bridgey goodness from Canuckistan:

P8250228 by Mr Larrington, on Flickr

P8250229 by Mr Larrington, on Flickr

This rather fine suspension bridge carries the Alaska Highway over the Liard River very close to the imaginatively-named settlement of, um, Liard River.

P8250231 by Mr Larrington, on Flickr

This one is the Hyland River, which may be in BRITISH Columbia or Yukon at this point, as the road jumps back and forth across the border in a somewhat cavalier fashion in those parts.

P8250233 by Mr Larrington, on Flickr

Another crossing of the Liard River.  This is close enough to Watson Lake that I can be fairly sure it's in Yukon.

P8250234 by Mr Larrington, on Flickr

This one crosses the Little Rancheria River, which sounds like it ought to be in New Mexico, but isn't.

P8250236 by Mr Larrington, on Flickr

P8250235 by Mr Larrington, on Flickr

The last two are definitely in Yukon and are the bridge wot carries the Alaska Highway across the Teslin River at, er, Teslin.  With your Junior Pocket Microscope (Model 3a) you will be able to see the Nisutlin Trading Post up the hill at the far end of the bridge, wot is where I am staying tonight.

Took a scenic detour off the Alaska Highway this morning and found myself crossing this:

P8260238 by Mr Larrington, on Flickr

This carries Yukon Highway 8 over the Tagish River at, frankly, Tagish River.

I then spent an age wondering what They had done with the Mighty Yukon, but it appears from Ye Mappe that the Mighty Yukon does not become such until the confluence of the Tagish and Teslin rivers somewhere up the Klondike Highway, where I am not going yet.  And when I do cross it, it'll be on a ferry.  There is a bridge across the Mighty Yukon but it's up the Dalton Highway, where most hire cars, including mine, are Strictly Forbidden to go.  Also there was nowhere to park by the Teslin River bridge at Johnson's Crossing.  Soz.

Edit: The Alaska Highway does cross the Mighty Yukon after all, but it was on the stretch I missed out today to take the Tagish-Carcross Scenic Wossname.  You may rest assured, however, that it will be bagged on the way back south.

Mears bridge carrying the Alaska Railroad across the Tanana River at Nenana.  Apparently the longest bridge in Alaska, so I've obviously missed a bit off one end.

Not sure what's either on top of or underneath this one but it's off the Nenana River valley

Strikes me that aside from treeses, lakeses, riverses and bridgeses, Alaskanuckistan has MAMBA.

Not the most exciting destination for holibobs...

American Russia is actually pretty scenic when you can see it, but yesterday afternoon's nice warm sunshine has been replaced with eight degrees and rain today.  Again.  Still, the thought of thirty+ degrees in a desert gives me something to look forward to ;D

If there's actually anyone working, that's a warning of a flagger wielding a stop/go sign, but Alaskan workmen are apparently no different from BRITISH ones, so there was no bugger there.

Dearth of decent bridges yesterday apart from the one across Okanagan Lake at Kelowna BC, and we had that one in 2015 so I didn't bother to do it again.  But some better bridgery today:

We had this one last year too, but this morning it was not half-hidden in smoke.  Clackamas River Highway (sic - it's like a B-road) over Clackamas River, Oregon.

Probably not much bridge action for a while, coz if I go direct from here to Battle Mountain we've had all the decent bridges on that route before, and if I have to divert to Reno to collect my grate frend Mikey I'll not have time to tit about looking for Bridgey Goodness.  Soz.
