How long can one keep hard-boiled eggs?

From the previous evening to the following lunchtime, for sure!
Don't really manage any longer...

Not as long a a fresh one! if it smells ok it's fine (even if it's gone a bit blue around the edge of the yolk!).  Seriously - a week is about as long as I'd tend to keep one in the fridge, and I'm not a stickler for use by / sell by dates.

I normally boil 8 or 9 at a time and keep them in the fridge. Mind you they are usually gone in a couple of days. I week seems to be the time most stated.
Food places that make sandwiches etc have eggs by the bucket full. I've delivered pallets full of them!!

You can also pickle them in vinegar which is truly lovely. A pickled egg in a bag of cheese & onion crisps is one of the greatest delicacies known to man, and if accompanied by a pint of decent bitter while watching telly its pretty unbeatable. Pickled eggs last for years.

...though eventually, if you keep your health, your stomach acids ought to break them down.

Thanks everyone.  There are only 3 so they won't last long!
