Just wait until they discover Scunthorpe...
I first came across "the Scunthorpe problem" many years ago when I saw a comedian, a native of that town, who introduced himself as "The man who put the..." - you can fill in the rest.

Devil's Dyke has allegedly got the same treatment according to an
clickbait article somewhere or other that I read the other day.

Which one?
There's more than one? Is there no end to this filth?
The one in Sussex.

Graffiti in Sheffield student bog c1980 << If Typhoo put the T in Britain, who put the cunt in Scunthorpe?>>
Jokes about Penistone had worn so thin nobody bothered with them...

How long before that old favourite Wilsford-Cum-Lake gets the treatment?
-
Graffiti in Sheffield student bog c1980...
1980! There really is nothing new. And it was probably an old gag even then.

There's one just outside Cambridge as well

Or the times that Glyndwr had his Way with Offa's Dyke. Knighton bald mounting.

There is, of course, Fingringhoe, in Essex.

There is, of course, Fingringhoe, in Essex.
I took refreshment in the company of the late Barry Mason in The Whalebone, a delightful pub in Fingringhoe, on one occasion.

I tried to go to Clitheroe once but had trouble finding it.

Saw that yesterday and meant to post here but hadn't got round to it. It's Tyson Homosexual all over again.
I think what they've done here is lifted the story from elsewhere and asked the computer to change a few words to avoid accusations of plagiarism. Idiots.

I've not, but I'm pretty sure I posted a photo of a signpost to it on here some years ago.
One 'T' had been 'shopped for the benefit of one of the contributors here.

Part of my job involves investigating cases of student misconduct in their assessments. It is not unheard of for students to crudely apply automated synonym substitution in a failed effort to avoid plagiarism detection software. I've seen submissions with "multi-spy systems" [agent]; "data furniture" [tables] and "computing climate" [environment].
