Do DSLRs need to be sent in for a general "service" every so often, in the absence of any specific fault, and if so what needs doing?
I was under the impression that it was good practice to get them serviced every year. Emailed Nikon and they replied back saying if you use it every day it's probably a good idea, but if not, it can be done "less frequently".
I probably use mine every day when I'm on holiday but then there are long periods when I don't use it.
Sent it in anyway cos I've had it a few years now and it never has been serviced, and it needs a new rubber eyepiece cover anyway.
But just wondering whether other people bother getting theirs serviced.
