Drill batteries

12 years ago I was given a Skil cordless drill. Battery's dead. New one costs more than new drill.  Battery casing not amenable to disassembly otherwise I'd have a go.

Old old story, sure, but it p's me off to have these chunks of perfectly serviceable machinery sitting about idle for the lack of a small accessory when I still have fully functional Black & Decker mains drills from the 1960s - my favourite dates from 1979.

Bah!
I've dusted off all those old bottles and set them up straight
