Although Shaggy's grimace is the same as OD's default photo face.

I thought that too initially until i remembered you were Shaggy.

Not actually brought it but my son has given me a belated birthday present of a Solar Competition 2 tent. He says it is for carrying as an emergency shelter if I can't find other accommodation.

I like my Snow Peak spork.

I like Keith Titanium. Simply because it's called Keith Titanium.

No.  Definitely, absolutely, a bit fat NO.  Naming bikes is fine, everyone should do it;  naming tents is a bit of a grey area.  But I am not going to start naming my sporks.

We have a Light My Fire Ti spork.  I don't like it for eating with, but it's great for cooking.

Its a spoon and a fork (and a knife). There's no integration...

Not so.  While there is a spoon on one end, which is damn useful, the other end incorporates a fork with tines that work, enough of a bowl to be moderately useful, and a serrated cutting edge (not serrated on the Ti version).

Actually, I tend to use the back of the 'spoon' end for buttering duties.

Not bought by me, but the SmallestCub received from Granny Annie, for his 6th birthday present, his very own tin mug and spork.  This gift arrived in his hands two days after the birthday itself, since the Cubs had been away at their dad's until that point.  It got unwrapped from its paper, admired, then immediately packed in a rucksack and taken for its first ever night under canvas :D

How long d'you reckon it'll be until he asks for/demands an upgrade to titanium? :)

(along similar lines, I've just ordered a set of titanium pegs from Alpkit)

I have also just ordered Ti spikes from Alpkit  ;D having just returned with 10 bent Al ones, this dry hot weather has made the ground pretty hard!

Is there anyone, bar Alpkit, making Ti V-pegs at a sane price?

Bought last week, but unboxed and tested today: A standard cheap plastic airbed, GampingGaz-branded.  Chosen primarily on the basis of width and thickness: barakta's shoulders, for the preservation of (when motor-assisted camping in a tent-you-can-stand-up-in).

While the gear freak in me would much prefer an Alpkit Dozer or something, prior experience suggests that this is actually the best option for a decent night's sleep with a minimum of painkillers and crunchiness in the morning (which translates to ability to do things like ride bikes).  It's also a fraction of the price, and a fraction as durable.  Thermal insulation can be had in the form of heavy sleeping bags.  It'll do.

I'm quite impressed with the valve design, which while not entirely barakta-friendly does allow you to disconnect the pump (yes, you need one of those too) without accidental deflation.

We've toured with an inflatable airbed and pump. You can improve insulation by putting a blanket either on or under the airbed.  :)

It's personal choice.  I find Ti leaves a taste in the mouth, which is why we don't use Butterfly's lovely Ti mug.

Just been into Gocamping and got a Zephyros 1 man tent http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/wild-country-zephyros-1-backpacking-tent-p204342

It's listed as £108 but managed to get it for £80.10 due to their price guarantee + 10% deal

It's listed online at Sports direct for £85 so asked for the discount and got it  ;D ;D

Not that I'm aware of, although having said that I haven't had a look on fleaBay.

If you're after some Ti V-pegs then I have a set of 10 Alpkit ones that are a) have never been used and b) are unlikely to get used 'cos I've got some Ti spikes and they're a bit more suited to my particular use-case than the V-pegs.

That's Oaky in the front seat, I'm sure OD is in there somewhere, probably Scooby Doo himself!

Indeed. That's a lightly modified reindeer costume.
