A nice run down on quiet roads. Weather was dull but dry.

Everyone arrived, tents were erected, Kim & Jogler showered, I didn't because I forgot my wash bag.

Walked along the canal to the pub. Friendly enough place but only 1 real ale on tap (Exmoor Stag). I had scallops with black pudding as a starter, followed by sea bass stuffed with chilli & served with noodles. Jogler had soup & sea bass whilst Kim stuck to fish & chips.

Back to the tents & to bed (or to bag!)
A cold night, I got up for a hedge visit just before 6 & my watch was saying 0 c and the tent was all crispy!
Drinking tea & listening to strange noises from Kim's tent, something is stirring.....

The Baton is now resident chez joglerville.
More later 'cause I'm cream crackered,need a bath,food & an early night 'cause I have to be up early in the morning for work.I hope I can remember how to do it:it's been a while since I've had any of the stuff.

Much the same here. Train crisis averted, home, showered, filled the dining room with wet tent and about to go and find food.

After narrowly avoiding becoming a Kimsicle overnight, I appear to have acquired sunburn - in the pattern consistent with a recumbent rider heading east on a hot day.

Keep up the good work. I've updated the photos on Page 1. I lost track of the locations. I'll updates the Bikely route if someone can look at the photos and summarise where they took place (photos are numbered).

All in all though it's working as I hoped it would. I hope it's initiated a few nice meet-ups.

It can only be transported by bike.
It's approx 100km from here to the Rutland camp site & after last weekend's experience of a 100km ride carrying camping kit,it's an experience I'm not likely to repeat.
In fact I would prefer my next handover ride to be considerably less than a 100km,particulary if circumstances dictate that I have to do out & back journies on the same day.

Or, I could meet you at Stony Cove or somewhere else between us and cycle it home. I could also catch the train to nearer to you and ride back with it. From Rugby I could then punt it Northamptonshire / Leicestershire / Buckinghamshire / Oxfordshire etc. as desired.

I'm doing a last minute "oooh this looks like fun!" and can pick up in Cheshire sort of area - I'm probably tonycollinet's best bet, and I can hand it over to Chocolatebike and/or Yahudamoon.

Does anyone wish to do a baton handover during the course of the forthcoming Easter weekend?.
I prefer a ride south-ish or east-ish of my location.Less hills generally speaking.I had my fill of hills, for the time being ,last weekend.

IIRC there was,before Andrewc had it pressed upon him at Stone

, an intention to get the baton down to the South East from where it would return north via a zig-zag meander across the width of the Island.
