Freight Transport Association meeting in Manchester next week
« on: 25 September, 2013, 04:04:52 pm »
Probably of relevance only to those in Manchester but I see that during next week's conservative party shindig our beloved Freight Transport Association is holding an open meeting on transport in cities, with its notorious director of policy (the one who was quoted in the press, responding to yet another cyclist being killed by a lorry, as saying words to the effect that cyclists needed to be more careful) as chair.  The meeting is at 8pm on Monday 30th Sept at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel in central Manchester. So far as I know, this is outside of the "secure" zone, so you don't need a conference pass to attend.

I wonder if any of the Manchester cyclists who I believe are holding a bit of a critical mass ride that evening might like to pop along and give their views on how the FTA could improve safety?
Why should anybody steal a watch when they can steal a bicycle?
