You should call it eric (if its a boy) both me and my dad wanted to call our cat that when we first got him but were out-voted by my brother who wanted snoopy. The one my mum thought of was pretty good too - maurice.

Well, decided on Bertie after all. I'm insisting it's Bertie Wooster, the wife Bertie Bassett. Still, Bertie it is anyway.

Some pics on the gratuitous cat pics thread. is settling on okay, but is a bit 'bitey'. Had been warned about this, so are hoping he settles down a bit. Some internet Googling reveals not too uncommon to be stroking him all nice and cozy, and then the next minute he's sinking his teeth into you. Hard.

I guess once we get to know his warning signs a bit better we can try and back off a little.

My sister's husband named their two "Puddy" and "Tatt" just so he could stand at the back door and call out...  ::-)

We don't have the cat's yet, but planned for a long time to get a pair of moggies.  Names would be "Roquefort" and "Camembert" (because cats should have at least one formal-sounding name ;) ) to be abbreviated in daily use to "Rocky" and "Bert"/"Bertie".

Wasn't he the mouse in The Aristocats?

Talisker is formally "Talisker Clive O", since Clive was the name that the shelter gave him, whereas we named him Talisker.  Generally known as Tali or "Oy get off of there". ;D
