Does anyone have a Garmin fit file fixer? Looks like Porkers 400 was too hard for my Garmin.
I have a 2.4mb file so presume the data is there but when I download it, it's appearing as unknown fit device and has a Duration of 0.
I've tried the online Dutch site but it just crashes with out of memory error.

I can run it through FFRT if you need. Stick it on here and I'll give it a go.

Hi,
Managed to get some of it back using Strava's tools but I've sent it to Feanor for now.
Crossing fingers.
Cheers

If you're still stuck then give us a shout as I've written my own tools to parse .fit files and so I can mangle things at a byte level, just takes a bit more time.

Are these FIT or FIT2? (Clue - you can't tell from the file extension ::-) )
-
Whatever a Garmin Edge 1000 saves it as. I've never heard of Fit2 so presume it's just fit file.
-
Im nearly done. Looks like the FFRT has managed to fix it up.
-
I've not had this happen before, I hope it's not a sign my Garmin is on the way out.
-
Ive just sent it back to you.
I test uploaded it into Garmin Connect and it seems fine.
GC then spammed it over to Strava too, and it looked OK on there too.
I've just deleted it from my GC and Strava account so I don't steal your credit!

I'll give it a go into WKO tonight. Thanks for your time on this, I owe you a beer.

Bumping because I have a similar problem, albeit with an Edge 500. It's managed to corrupt my file from yesterday's Snow Roads - I loaded it into Garmin Connect as usual, and it's displaying correctly, but when it syncs with Strava the activity is truncated (147 miles instead of 187). Uploading the fit file directly to Strava also doesn't work (I get an error message). I tried exporting a fit file from Garmin Connect, but I get a bizarre 35-second activity in which I apparently rode 26,000 miles. Which would be nice, but it's not quite right.
I've tried the fit file tools and the Dutch websites but neither worked. Does anyone have any ideas?

The Fit File Repair Tool ( a PC app, not the website ) can usually fix up corrupted FIT files.
If you like, I can run it through the tool here.
I'll PM you an e-mail address if you'd like me to try that.
For reference, my file was about 423KB, so it should attach OK.

I had this problem last weekend when my Garmin died mid ride - my fault I hadn't charged it ::-)
Anyway. A bit of search led me to this site http://garmin.kiesewetter.nl/ (http://garmin.kiesewetter.nl/) but the "convert to .autofix.fit" method didn't work (I got either a Java exception message or an out of memory message). So I tried converting the file to .CSV then without editing that file, uploaded it back to the site and converted it back to FIT and it worked!
