I've seen similar devices for mobile phones. To charge your cat you simply place it on the mat, there's no need to plug it into a charger anymore. Clever tech.

You've got an out of focus cat from Amazon? Easy, send it back, their returns policy is quite good....

From personal experience, that sort of mog photo is frequently out of focus, unless you are really well prepared with focus tracking engaged. I've got loads like it, where they've lunged at the camera with a silly expression, I even get swans doing it to me now.

I suspect less out of focus and more movement during shutter operation, which is always a risk in a dim room when avoiding flash.
