6 to 8 weeks is a hell of a wait. Bon courage.

Yes, 42 to 56 sleeps...

I suppose no point in worrying about it.   ::-)

George Monbiot has prostate cancer.

That's a very positive outlook.

Drat.  That man writes more sense in each column than many news outlets manage to publish in a year.

But it's really hot and runny!
Diarrhoea uh uh!
Diarrhoea uh uh!

Immodium for norovirus, or just hang loose and let it all out? No vom, thankfully, just watery number 2s. Phoned in sick  today. I do now have some rehydration sachets courtesy of mum posting them through my letterbox

I am unconvinced of the merit of some of these oral rehydration salts in adults tbh. Gatorade/Isostar taste better and are easier for adult quantities.

Phoned in sick today as still weak as a newborn baby. Thankfully the diarrhoea seems to have cleared up. I've been "encouraged" to return to work tomorrow upon pain of death attendance procedures interview...  ::-)

Hobbling today: arthritic right ankle doesn't like too many hills, and the value of too many is diminishing. :(

It'll be better tomorrow. By order.

Given you're supposed to wait 48 hours from the end of symptoms that is too soon - if you're handling post you could be a public health risk to others.

Employers really need to get the feck over themselves when people are sick.

Lol, i went back to work on Friday 30th.
Guess what got delivered to me today, a letter (dated the 30th!) from Slightly Big Boss, expressing their concern about my sickness, but reminding me to keep in contact..  ::-) a bit late for that...

Yebbut there's a certain pleasure in going back early and passing it on to them.  :demon:

Crap weather meant no cycling on family trip. Decided to enjoy lie in with current spouse.

Now have trapped nerve in back (self diagnosis) with spasms on one side of back and tingling down to middle two fingers.

Can’t wait for it to subside and go for a proper ride.

Why am I getting Reynauds about 10x more frequently this year than I usually do?

Bad luck, associated disease, cold weather, age, hypothyroidism.
Take your pick, wrap up warmly, turn up the heating, have some virtual tea and sympathy.

If symptoms persist, seek medical advice...

I've been facing the same problem and finally, I caught the problem. It is because of your weak muscles that are supporting your knees. You have to do a lot of squads and <link redacted> [mod] to train those muscles.

Christian, a chum of ours, just underwent catheter ablation for atrial fib.  First time didn't work so he was back for another go, and this time his heart stopped. They got it up & running again but at only 32 bpm, so now he's got a pacemaker. He's under observation and feeling extremely glum.

This happened to the ex-treasurer of our club, too, and to some other folk we know, but they're all in their late 60s when such excursions are more likely.  But Christian's 54, very fit, does cyclosportives and the odd race, and has an excellent bike sales & service shop two villages over from here. Which of course won't be earning him a cent while he's off. I hope his wife has a good job.

Everyone we know who has had this has had relapses soon after starting to ride again. :(

This is unfortunate.
I have a friend who lurks and occasionally posts here.
He had a catheter ablation for AF but relapsed. Had another catheter ablation and has not relapsed, walks quite a lot but does not cycle. He was also in his late 60s when this started.

It's going to be pretty sickening for Christian to work on bikes if he can't ride.  He did a lot of MTB, too.

The shadow of anything like that hanging over you is pretty off-putting.  Any time I've been off the bike for a while I remember the episode I had a couple of years back and I'm chary of starting again.  Have done so far, though.
