We have a "stray" cat Eric. He has been coming around for at least 8 years and given his age and colouring, we think he is the brother of our ex stray queen Elma.

Anyway, soon after we moved here, we put up a summer house for CBH to use when she wanted her own space....quickly however she turned this into a home for passing cats like Eric. All good IMHO, so much so, I put a cat flap in so he could access it on his own terms. Indeed, we even leave a space heater in their over the winter to keep the place warm.

So, where to I find Eric this morning.....yes, sleeping our unheated garage.....

Jamise our old tom is currently sitting on the sofa looking sorry for himself as the poor old thing must have been in a fight as he has a spilt lip.

Its not stopping him eating but its quite swollen.

I'll get him some prawns later for supper: he will like that.

Our litter are fighting like 9-year-old boys and have pulled two hand towels off their pegs.
They do love the towels! They chew them, roll in them and play tug-o-war.
Then they go back to scrapping or

Anja and Freya, our five month Norwegian Forest kittens are having an early Christmas present by having some of their insides removed.

We dropped them off with the vet this morning completely none the wiser and will pick them up later today. Trying to keep their cone collars on for the next ten days is going to be entertaining.

Hopefully they will forgive us when they work out it will allow them freedom to roam the neighbourhood as they have been trapped mostly indoors since August - we explore the garden with them but don't let them near the big black cat who thinks he owns our garden along with most of the street.

Trying to destroy my bed linen. He does this occasionally. I've had to go to my second away kit as my first kit and away kit are unusable now - apart from the pillow cases. But I can't be mixing and matching so I shall be buying some more....

Big Tom has taken over gentle parenting whilst Mama Cat snarls, hisses and refuses to eat in offsprings' presence.
Mama is TWITCHY and storms off at the slightest sound.
Kittens eat voraciously, bound, jump, climb, fight, scrap, chase.
Big Tom plods but seems to calm kits
Unlike Mum.

I was out in the workshop just now, taking hide glue off the underside of a guitar fingerboard with a scraper, when I noticed that one of our Labs had wandered in and was eating the shavings off the floor.
