This place opened last week to a couple of good reviews, so a friend & I decided to visit.
It's at the top end of Bold Street (next to Bold St Coffee)
A long shared central table, with more eating space provided by a counter around the wall with high stools. We were shown to a smaller table at the back. We perused the small menu & ordered a bottle of chardonnay & the felafel sharing platter.
Before the food arrived an apologetic waitress said that the table had been reserved for a group & asked us to move to the main table. We did this with a few grumbles.
Then the food arrived.
Warm bread, lovely tabouleh, olives, capers, sun dried tomatoes & 3 little bowls with some of the best dips I've tasted. The houmous & baba ghanoush were lovely, but the green chilli dip was out of this world. I asked if I could buy some to take home, sadly not (yet).
Next up was spiced chicken with green lentils & lamb with spinach & tumeric potatoes. Both really nice. Our wine glasses were constantly topped up as well, to make up for moving us
Grilled halloumi with roast veg & couscous was next, as was a dish of calimari with a chilli mayo , this was gorgeous, but a tad
too warm, even for me!
Full of good food, we paid, tipped & left. I think I'll visit again though, it's on my way home from work!
£50 for the 2 of us, I think we'd have bought another bottle of wine if we hadn't got the free refills though.
