Would people be interested in a weekend of skills sharing and if so, what would you like to learn or bring to the party.
Just throwing this out there for discussion.

I'd be happy to leech on the skillz of the YACF massive for almost anything. Wheelbuilding is always in very high demand.

Not sure what I could offer of any real practicality other than sitting in the corner knocking out Wills and Powers of Attorney...

But that is very much the point PB. I can build a wheel but have no idea about a will.
This was just an idea that surfaced at the Rutland meet.
The plan is a social weekend with an opportunity to learn something new.

I am a sub-prime jack of many trades and master of very few.

Maybe I could do a session on 'algorithmic cake baking chemistry in the outdoors'?

I (Kim and I) really need a will PB - I'd be well up for exchanging on that front

I don't know what my skills are either. Erm, tech of all trades. Assistive technology or making normal technology work for people who have either disabilities or apparently minor problems which are difficult. Computer 101 for newbies especially in the "what do you want" "OK, here's the most similar how to to make it like that".

Erm, distinctly amateur vector graphics noodler - I have no art skillz but I've worked out how to use Inkscape to a reasonable level.

Maybe I should just volunteer Kim as electrickery and techery of all trades? She's also really good at explaining tech to people without big words She was explaining Precession to me in explainable ways last night

Although people say I'm good at teaching what I do know. Probably because I'm only a couple of steps ahead of them. ETA: Crosspost with barakta.

Very poor Chinese
Rudimentary Arabic
How to sail and navigate
Setting up Bitcoin wallets

Is that it? After 40 years on the planet I have next to no useful skills. It's depressing that the stuff they pay me handsomely for during the week is so utterly pointless in real life. My word that's a real hint to sort my life out.

Wonderful idea though. Hope it has legs.

Apart from Swedish, all I can think I can offer is a fairly specilised bit of MS Word usage with comments and track changes. Pretty useful when reviewing or editing documents, I spose. Not for a newbie Word user though, as I found out to my cost on a poorly pre-sold session.

This is a brilliant idea!

However, I can only offer bike mechanics (which many here know already) and/or drawing and painting. (I'm a qualified mechanic and a Fine Art graduate).

If Mrs E wants to play, there's a possibility of basic textile crafts (spinning and weaving, probably; she's not so confident about knitting and crochet).
