The calendar sez early April

The early appearance of Mr Sun and his angle in the sky sez early April.

The gardens round here say early March.

The temperature sez early February.

Come on. Get with the programme. I'm bored with this coldness now. :(

Er...its just started snowing in Stafford! We still have snow from the last fall in our garden!

This just isn't good enough.

Sodding VPN.

I can get onto the internet, 'cos otherwise I wouldn't be able to post this!

From my other laptop (work provided) I can't.  they have them locked down so you can only access the internet through their proxy, which means you need to go via the VPN.  Today the VPN worked first thing this morning, now it don't work, which means WFH is a none-starter...

Luckily I can send an email as I have a Blackberry.

Time to make coffee, I think!

My disabled Dad has been told that the district nurses have stopped treating leg ulcer patients at home, and also won't allow my Mum to carry on doing some of the expert-standard treatment herself any more, so he will have to go to the clinic twice a week instead.

The transport itself won't be a serious problem, but the inconvenience and stress of the whole thing will be hard for my Dad (and Mum who will go with him).  The nurse (who is no less unhappy than we are) said the stress will stop him getting better.  So it'll cost the NHS more in the long run.

Biggsy, what would actually happen if your Mum carried on doing the treatment at home, which presumably she is doing now? Would the clinic refuse to do the other treatment or would they just tut or what?

She couldn't carry on the treatment without the special dressings etc prescribed by the nurses.  She is going to try asking for special permission and prescriptions direct from the GP, but this may not be granted.  Rules are already being bent at the moment.

My order from Bike24 hadn't turned up and I was ready for a rant at the delivery company, that there were three people in the house when they claimed to have tried to deliver it.

After 12 years living in the same house you would think that I would know the house number. Seems not as I had entered 31 instead of 41 on the address form. My rim is now on its way back to Germany and I'll need to re-order it.  :-[

Travelodge - I'm trying to enter my address but according to your database it doesn't exist. How about a box for filling in the number if not listed eh?

Wishing people would stop addressing "congratulations on your civil partnership" cards[1] to "Nat and Kim".  It's confusing[2].

<nat> that *is* confusing
<nat> makes you worry we all signed in the wrong boxes
(Nat was one of our witnesses)

[1] Which are a thing.  Obviously.

Basil: one of Mel and Kim (not Kim and Barakta) died of cancer, in the eighties or early nineties. She was very young.
