He was far, far too close to Operation Puerto, the blood doping scandal that has yet to finish collecting all its cycling victims, let alone those involved on other ball based sports. Personally, I'm really sad he's riding, but I'm very glad that Messrs Landis and Basso didn't show in today's stage.
