Indoors, it is November.

I doubt I will make it as the timings don't really work for a near-Chelmo venue.

An Eastern venue might work but only might so best count me out.

Rose & Crown then?

Sounds good. 8pm start? I do like the early start and early finish, to avoid those post-midnight returns.

 Ok by me - I'll leave about 7pm and take the long way there via Pleshey.

If I make it out at all I certainly won't be able to leave any earlier than 7:30 from Witham so will likely arrive at the pub closer to 9pm than 8.

eta - not going to make it out

Hello, sorry I'm so out of touch but is there a plan to have a curry on a Wednesday evening before Christmas?

It sounds like there is now. Are you organising it at the Jalsa Ghar in Dunmow?

Well, I'm told the Nano Brewery has upgraded indoor accommodation which might need christening.

I searched on Nano Brewery Essex, and what I found looked really good. The Essex County Brewing Company. Unfortunately the 'postcode' indicated it wasn't that close to being a central venue ... https://www.essexcountybrewing.com/about

The nano brewery being referenced is the Bryony Nano Brewery (BNB)
Biggest issue is that the brewer has not been producing much beer recently so the cellar is a bit dry, may be some bottles that have completed their conditioning.
Also, although the extended indoor accommodation is complete it is still waiting on something to sit on unless the floor or camping chairs (guaranteed not to lose plastic feet in the mud) are acceptable.

A few thoughts spring to mind...

1. Best get brewing, you know you want to
2. BYO camping chairs seems like a plan
3. How much time do you need to brew the beer mentioned in point #1?

I know some of you don't get out much and may have forgotten but there are still places with seats, tables, cutlery chefs and waiters that serve food and drinks.

Have a look for Indian Restaurants on the search engine of your choice.

The place in Coggeshall with the sprouts was good but may have changed hands.  One of those out of town jobs with secure bike parking would be even better.

Wise words!

When we passed through Coggs on the way to chief's they other day it looked like the Emporium of Curried Sprouts was a posh restaurant and wouldn't entertain anything curried.

My raising the subject of a pre-Christmas curry fest was to ensure I wasn't somewhere exotic like Doncaster so could help spend...

The curry fund is currently about £150  :)

BTW... Omar's in Hatty P?

Central enough, ethical, locally sourced, according to the website. Seasonal menu isn't up to date - curried sprouts? One can only hope ...

And not licensed, so bring your own - but we have form for that, remembering the Jalsa Ghar's little 'interlude'.

Last time we were there, many years ago now, we went next door to their off-licence they also own to procure alcoholic beverages.  My recollection of the interior of Omar's is that it is quite compact so we might want to do a takeover and book the place out, depending upon interested numbers.
