If Maldon, then I don't mind skipping this evening if we have somewhere more central or even western next week. Somewhere with a beer garden would be good next week if the forecast proves accurate.

Next week is supposed to be warm, so hopefully an opportunity to visit Hatfield Broad Oak and and to share Tomsk's adventure?

The Hurdlemakers is not exactly what I would call Eastern.  It is a 65k round trip for me.

Mind you, Hatfield not Peverel is that each way so it's all relative.

I should be out to play, non COR route to wherever we are going.

Its a bit further, yes.

I mean, I can do The Hurdlemakers but its 75km round trip and that sort of cuts down on beer/socialising time. Headwind coming home, too.

Happy to splinter off or get there earlier if anyone fancies but don't want to split up the group either. Its fine if not, the distance is always a good thing.

HP looks about 1k further for Nick so shall we go with the Hurdlemakers on GS's strong case for that venue ?

It looks like about 45k e/w for Psyclist so not as bad as HnP or the SH for me but still a trek for a school night - even for an Italy Divide veterano.

Groovy. I will try to get there a bit earlier.

Where do you usually put your bikes and do I need a cafe lock or a decent lock? Inside or out? Sorry for all the questions but not been there before

There is a beer garden to your left as you look at the pub from the road.

Lock of your choice. I will be using a cafe lock but I don't have a fancy bike like the rest of you.

How about the Axe and Compasses in Aythorpe Roding this week? A nice beer garden to make the most of the balmy conditions.
