Title: Skateboards
Post by: fd3 on 25 August, 2020, 11:23:27 am
10 yo has expressed an interest in a skateboard, which we are all for as it's outside par pursuit as opposed to asking for an Xbox.  Anything in particular to look for/avoid?

I dunno if this is a thing but I noticed today a couple of kids on mini skate boards. It may be worth asking if that's what they're after. Other then that can't really help as could never board myself

There seem to be a wide variety of skateboards, presumably catering to a variety of styles.  What does your 10yo want to do with it?
The boards that skatepark users have look like the one I had 30 years ago (but I suspect they are significantly better), there are also the skinny ones that Jonny mentions, and the longboard style that you see student types riding down the middle of the road!
