Missing tablet!

Is there a way to remotely ping an android tablet that should be in the house but can't be found?

Background,  son 10 has put his tablet down somewhere to go to his friend's b house.  Came home and can't find it.  We've not got s big house but we can't see it. I tried to trigger a notification noise by sending a message to an app he uses.  Didn't work but it should have had charge.

Does anyone have an idea? If it just made a noise we'd hear it. So frustrating!

It has an option to play a sound.

Or if you have a Google speaker, just ask where's my tablet.
