"The Symposium of Anal Love"

We were trying to find each other in a huge crowd by way of him sending a photo of his view of the stage, and me honing in.

It ended by me sending him a photo of the back of his head  ;D

Moi.  I was asked if I had any 'old kit' , ie Alpine hat, Bergen rucksack, heavy rope, ice pick, boots etc. When I said yes, I was asked if I would 'model' for an album cover, for a prog rock band. The album, called the 'murder wall' was about the ill fated expedition in 1937/38? on the attempt to climb the North face of the Eiger.  I duly abliged, but they could not make it convicing enough for the main cover, so I was relegated to the CD back cover. hey ho.

I bet you found all that on a bike ride through the Alps.

I got some creative film for Christmas and was waiting for a snowy day to make the most of it:

The film is Snovlox 35mm B&W 200 ISO. I only have one film SLR; a Pentax MX with SMC 50mm f1.4 lens - so I used that. I created a website so I could put these images somewhere under my own control and without adverts... here.

Regrettably, I have never experienced that archway in that direction ...

Just looked at the site:  Northern Sole, groan - definitely up/down there with Junk and Disorderly!  Good work!

I've been inspired by the #BelieveInFilm community on Bluesky: learning that good photographs can be horrendously messy. There's a sub community of pinhole camera enthusiasts too... I can't remember where I heard this, but, "a good photograph is one you look at for more than 10 seconds"

:)

I like that.^

Did a bit of playing around with pinhole cameras when I was a student and the union had a darkroom.  At the time I thought I would like to make one in my house when I was a grown up, but now I think I probably am one it just seems to be full of bikes!

Non-photographic comment: I rode through the Yorkshire Sculpture Park on my way to York Rally 2022. There is a bridleway running round the edge of it and I diverted into the park itself in order to visit the cafe. Leaving the cafe, I was apprehended by a bloke in hi-viz who first told me cycling wasn't allowed in the park, then that I should have paid to enter the park. There had been nowhere to buy a ticket that I had passed, and obviously I hadn't been in any of the indoor parts. Then when he found out I was cycling from Bristol to York, he said he "Loves a good nutter" and told me the quickest way out of the park without paying. All this along with a discourse on different types of Yorkshire accent (Barnsley is an ugly accent, he said).

Barnsley is a great accent - and probably the one most readily identifiable to an outsider.
I visited the Sculpture Park a few years ago as part of Don Black's West Bretton audax.  There didn't seem to be any entrance fee or particular way in or problems.
The cafe was shockingly expensive, possibly on the assumption that people who visit a Sculpture Park will be intellectuals and therefore stupid.  Everywhere is expensive now, pretty well, with covid being both cause and excuse.

Apparently the entrance fee was only introduced after or during covid. And he did say how stupid it was charging people entry but having a public right of way running through the park...

We had a lovely time despite how long we spent critiquing Hirst's "Virgin Mother" and how irritated it made daughter and I. We couldn't afford the cafe. Entry in January was a twofer.

There seem to be several different copies of this, each slightly different from the next. I don't like any of them (or Hirst in general) but "irritated" is an intriguing reaction. What made you irritated about it?
