At a guess -
Camera on tripod, remote control, 2 sec shutter delay.
Then pile the images all together in iMovie.

The multi image one similarly but photoshop instead.

All in Photoshop actually, just created an animated gif for the moving one. How the hell you even know the shutter delay I can't fathom!

Multiple exposures are fun.

And yes, with too much time on my hands a friend and I are already planning a stop-motion fist fight (which has been done before, though I can't be bothered finding it right now. I may have time on my hands, but that doesn't stop me being lazy...)

(That's the boring answer, the real way of doing it was revealed by Clarion...)

Because your hands are not holding the remote control - you have had time from triggering the shutter to get into the appropriate pose.

Stop motion stuff is fun.  I tried to do it when I was shifting a few tonnes of brickwork into a skip.  I think I took a photo every ten wheelbarrows worth, and unfortunately I wasn't in quite the same place, or facing quite the same direction, so it took a bit to get the animation looking correct!

Not as good as blackpuddinonnabike's, but fun to do nevertheless (and it gave me a break every so often!)
Actually, it is rocket science.

What is the AFV behind you? It loks like a Pig. if so, it s the veicle that has caused me to feel the scardest I have ever felt in my life- stuck in the bac of onefr a 3-4 mile journey to a search operation in. South Armagh I was in the 5th run from Crossmaglen Police Station via a road locally know as RPG alley. Me and several others with our rectums playing 'sixpence- half crown. We foot patrolled back.

Sam seems a tad over dressed. Was he going to an interview just after the picture was taken :)
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

I've actually got a picture of me on a bike, where I'm not five pixels across!  It still scary, but that's just the nature of the beast!
