Title: Road Conditions Cotswold Water Park and points west
Post by: Numpty on 18 January, 2020, 05:04:27 pm
Hi
My club is riding west out of Cotswold Water Park tomorrow morning.  It looks like the forecast is similar to today.  We have heard reports of dangerous (icy) riding conditions.  Please can anyone let me/us know whether riding tomorrow should be OK.

I was out that way yesterday and there was a lot of water around on the roads. So there will almost certainly be a lot of ice if it freezes. Just to warn you, a friend was out this morning and came off.

The rule of thumb in Gloucestershire is that main roads and bus routes are gritted. So you might be able to find a clear route if you do your research.

Lots of visible ice and black ice between Woodmancote and North Cerney. One of our group
came a cropper around Woodmancote. Black ice saw me walking a couple of hundred metres
for fear of my body meeting the ground.
