Sounds like tonight might be a no go'er.... It is particularly wet out there and although my car was showing 2deg as I came home along the Dunmow road, my garden is at 0 degrees so I suspect I trust that reading more.

I had a lovely winter wonderland cross country arrival via the reverse of my gritted roads route to avoid the worst of the M11... my usual 4 hour drive was just over 6 hours in all!

Shame the weather isn't going to play ball.  I think I'll grab some food and head further South of the river when the traffic dies down a bit more.

What was slushy snow in the back garden two hours ago is now nicely crusting over. The lanes will be lethal for anyone without spikes, so it looks like I'll be staying in and maybe slithering down to the Angel & Harp rather than going out to prove a point...

Weather seems to be behaving this week, albeit with plenty of wind on Wednesday.

We're down to visit the Wheatsheaf in Writtle. Hopefully that is still the plan. For those living to the east of Writtle, expect a quick ride home!

Who is current holder of the LS ACME stock? Wondering if it might be possible to try on a couple of sizes on Wed?

OD's Ye Olde Library of Routes offers the Witham peloton THIS OPTION for tomorrow evening.

PS - I may take the train home as the back from Chelmo is never very inspiring.

Sorry chaps, I had a cold and a hacking cough over Christmas and in the run up to NY.  I thought it had gone but it hasn't.  So I am going to skip this evening to make sure I'm close to 100% on Saturday.

Bunch of hypochondriacs if you ask me  :demon:

Re parking at the Wheatsheaf, what is the normal procedure? I note there is a car park at the rear, but StreetView doesn't provide many clues as to whether this is a safe bet. Space out front looks limited, but then it sounds like we might not have many bikes to cater for.

Of course the real reason I can't go is that Psyclist and I can never attend the same MEMWNs Wednesday evening event.
