On 1st April 1983 a copy of Cycletouring plopped through my letterbox, including within it a piece from my mate Felix Ormerod extolling the virtues of riding fixed. Felix and I had a little competition going at the time to see who could get the most outrageous piece of nonsense past the editors of national newspapers and magazines and this was one of mine. It received some quite vitriolic responses from the readership!
