Carbon free air travel

Stopped on the way home from an excursion into Huddersfield and snapped a couple of paragliders trying to get airborne near Woodhead in the Peak District.

These are my favourites from the set:

A carbon free way to fly!

It's the first time I've shot anything like this. I'm quite pleased with the results. Files converted from raw. Quite a few approaches attempted in getting them 'pop', I hope none look over processed.

Thanks for looking.

Not sure how they're carbon free... Are they electric?

The title was a bit tongue in cheek.

Nice shots, Dan.

My old flat mate's a paraglider.  Were it not for the fact that through her, I know how ridiculously addictive it can become, I think I'd definitely give it a go.

Mind you, she did fracture a vertebrae a couple of years back...

Two years now, I've tried to get a tourist tandem ride up at Tignes, only to get weathered off.  It's got to be done, it really has.
It takes blood and guts to be this cool but I'm still just a cliché.

So did one of my former bosses. Unfortunately it was a fairly high one, so she's paralized from the shoulders down with limited arm movement. Not so much fun now. She did have a cool assistance dog though.

Lovely photos though :).

You just need to learn how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.
