I think he wins the thread for all time.

My (pacifist) wife's response to reading about him was "Someone will shoot him or inject him with AIDS-infected blood and he deserves it."

I went to skool with an Ian Cumming but as he intended to go straight to Sandhurst on completing his sentence he's probably not going to be appearing on some cookery nonse as a "New Man", whatever one of those might be.

Jo. For the GBBO spoiler. Grrrr! ;)

Anyone who has following this series would know that Nadiya and Tamal have been consistently among the top bakers every week, while Ian has been less consistent but won star baker three weeks in a row. Flora's real problem is being 19 - her lack of experience has shown at times. I never thought she was going to win.

Amanda Platell being offensively moronic never comes as a surprise.

I think half a week is fair game for spoilers!  ;)

I just Googled the oeuvre that is Amanda Platell. I wish I hadn't. Thanks guys.

(She might be right though, my friend was on the 'extra' version the other day and he's gay, so it must be a conspiracy. Chocolate and marmite, really John?)

I think I'm actually two episodes behind. I lose track. I watch it more for the actual baking than the competition element anyway, so I'm not that bothered about spoilers. Some people would string you up for it though.

Taxpayers alliance

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-34439965

"Ministers should waste no time to make unpopular cuts to pensioner benefits, a think tank director has said.
Many of those hit by a cut to the winter fuel allowance might "not be around" at the next election, said Alex Wild of the Taxpayers' Alliance."

That's cynical even by the undemanding standards of that right wing pile of shite

See above.

The Taxpayers' Alliance are a shower of bastards and always have been.  They're basically our version of the Tea Party, a load of rich right--wingers whose motto is "screw everyone else".

Wasn't one of their high priests shown to be an epic S-T when it was revealed that as a resident of France he didn't actually pay UK taxes?

The Devil may have the best tunes, but the Tories do seem to have the shittiest shits, what with Platell, May and Duncan Smith. Kind of reminds of Bad Nazis

Given the contents of the last three posts, should there be an Ultra-Twat thread?

I know it's the Torygraph, but even so.

Hodges has always been a twat but I think he's upgraded himself on this one.
