You put it in the corner of the room and see how long it takes people to notice it?

For £250 you get a brilliant workhorse of a bike, with a great backstory and the knowledge that a second bike will be heading to Malawi to change a life.

I'm afraid this bike should count as N+2, not N+1.

I couldn't resist buying N+1 using "Christmas justification" a few minutes before I saw this thread.

I've been wanting to trial a Dutch bike in Bikeability teaching locally - lights, rack, chainguard, lock, back pedal brake etc. so it's eminently practical for flat central London teaching.

A Twitter link took me by chance to a Gazelle Cheetah 24" Dutch bike. I Couldn't resist at £25 reduced for 'Black Friday weekend' from £100.

It's collection only, but as it happens, it's  fairly near where my sister, who's been asking what I want for Christmas, lives.

So, Christmas present sorted, collection sorted, delivery sorted.

Can't wait to trial it in some schools.

Two hundred and fifty notes doesn't seem too bad for the Heffalumpede but I'd want a rather more detailed spec than they appear to offer before handing over my hard-earned.

I used to inspect royal mail so I had a good look at the bikes, discussed them with the users and the mechanics. Even had a go on some and went out with a postie.
Heavy but reliable, great for short heavily loaded trips. This model was a big improvement over the previous model.
Tried and failed to get one direct.
Wanted something cheapish, tough and load carrying for my short commute and local shopping.
This should fit the bill.

And?
VELOMANCER

Well that's the more blunt way of putting it but as usual he's dead right.

Original carradice carriers now available

Someone told me about these the other day.  Had I not got a pair of Ortliebs that fit my Pronto nicely I'd be tempted.

Went through 1000 km yesterday, nearly all journeys  that otherwise would have been driven, I can now augue that it has payed for itself in saved car miles at 45p/mile.

Blimey 1k km in just over a year, that's good going. Penelope has done 293 miles but like you most of those miles would have been driven.
