Brilliant.
Nick Park for more Oscars.  That "Aliens" Homage (or plagarism?) was just amazing.
When can I get to see it again?

+Bagpuss.

On Iplayer now and will probably be dlable on a binary usenet server near you soon.

Edit: and a touch of Stan Laurel.
Edit2: Thunderbirds (again), Dads Army (Cpl Jones on the windmill), that Hovis ad, and the Slimcia bread advert (not Slimcia but sounds like it, with the balloon girl).

Some Like It Hot - a couple dancing Salsa with rose in (his!) teeth.  Especially as that was just after we see Gromit dialling up "Hot" on one of those trademark illuminated dials.

Anyone spot the chrome vehicle badge saying "Austin of England" in reversed / mirror writing just below the rear window of the van.
Why reversed?

Anyone spot the makers name on Wallace's fridge?

W&G never quite does it for me, but the Yorkshire Border was funny as the intended disposal point for the bomb.

Might have been me but there was a plethora of references to classic movies in shows yesterday. Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction in Coronation Street. The Great Escape in The Royal Family.

Watched this shortly after the Were-rabbit film. The longer film was MUCH better. I did enjoy Loaf, but the story felt rushed - perhaps an hour is the perfect length for W&G?

Loved it.

But then, we've loved every one. And I have an office full of W&G memorabilia. And I have a cuddly Gromit .

The "Yorkshire - Do Not Enter" sign was a cause of much mirth, though slightly less than the "Aye-up" magazine shot from the Were Rabbit movie. Half my immediate family were born in Yorkshire - so we always like digs at the "ol' country".

Yorkshire is better than Lancashire though.

It pains me to say it, but I loved it! I gave up trying to explain stuff to my nephews (4 and 6) after about a minute, but they loved it too! Clever on so many levels (many of which no doubt went straight over my head!)   :P
Those wonderful norks are never far from my thoughts, oh yeah!

We Lancastrians got the 'Furry' reference. But the stepped rooflines on the hillside terraces are a Yorkshire thing.

It was excellent - and packed so much incidental detail into 30 minutes. I just couldn't understand why they put it on so late. It should have been on before Doctor Who...

No, the Kirst household felt it wasn't quite up to the usual standards.
