Some of the Helpers' committee has met this evening over a pint and suggested a 9am readiness at the 'spoons in Witham and take it from there. I'm anticipating roughly a 6.5 hour ride in total for the 100k.
:o I need to be home by 4 at the latest so going to stick to my timings. If anyone does want an earlier outing let me know as I may potentially not bother with Breakfast and do it as a fasting ride if on me own.

...which tempted me to race Tomsk to the pub along the last stretch from Bran End, I let him win.

I have just looked at the weather forecast for Sunday and to quote the great Bobb - I ain't goin' out in that shit.

Could be tempted out tomorrow morning but not in 45mph winds and heavy rain.  That's Tomsk weather.

Would love to if I wasn't already riding with Huggy

Forecast is looking up

Indeed it is!  I dont think it will be anything like the weather at teh start of the week in terms of wet, might be a little breezy but perhaps thats a tail wind for the return leg

I'm a bit perplexed with this train thingy.... every train on the GA and Nat Rail enquiries are either the Harwich or Intercity which require bike bookings.  Have they stopped listing the none intercity trains on the enquiries or something, it was the same on Monday last week (hence the car!)

At this rate, I will be in Witham for sometime between 08:46 (the earliest train) and 09:55   When you can't plan your day - this is why people dont bother with fecking trains!

You guys should have ridden today. Icy and frosty start but lovely blue sky day and ice and frost gone by 10am.

For mostly family reasons I rode my 200km today instead of tomorrow, plus the knowledge that today was good, and tomorrow might have been dodgy. Glad I did ride by myself, it was my first ride in 6 weeks, and boy was I slow and hurting.

I hope your ride tomorrow is good, and I'll look forward to doing the route in December.

Yes - looked nice, but I think Grant had something planned today and I was without a front wheel till early on...

It was my original intention to ride today but got co-opted in to the aukweb system refresh committee for the day.

Anyone else for a 9am-ish wet & windy departure from the 'spoons in Witham?

Forecast is looking up

It is. I'll probably have to work after all. The forecast for Stansted (Heathrow, my base, is a bit worse) is actually quite nice after 10-11am unless you find yourself in a thunderstorm.

I've decided  to stay home as well for now. Full of cold and I suspect 5 or 6 hours in that shite won't do me many favours.

Your suggestion was in my Helper's ride report, as was an alert to the Organiser that you were likely to be petitioning for it  ::-)
