Tapping details, finding the riders you are interested in, set them as favourites by tapping the star, then filter for favourites. Makes it a lot easier to see how they are doing.

Cheers.

LEL starts in Essex. Does that mean I can use it for my Essex SR? (I am missing a 600 because I had to to DNS the Fenland Friends [Flatlands Reversed] 600 due to COVID Round II.)

I ok'd LEL last time for the Essex SR - there's plenty of lovely Essexness to count, plus the start in Debden is just in the county. Riding round the old county boundary on my Post-Lockdown 2020 tour made me realise how much has been sliced off and lost to London boroughs, Cambridgeshire, Herts and Suffolk too. The Anglican Diocese of Chelmsford mirrors the old county pretty much exactly, so that's good enough for me!

Slightly off topic...

I have a piece of magnetic whiteboard going spare.  Dimensions: 0.87 x 1.46m.  It has no frame and there are a few imperfections in the white surface but nothing which makes it useless.

FOC to a good home, just come and get it.

Joss is at CP1 on the TCR. Doing well.

He is now 76th, in Southern Croatia, close to the border with Bosnia. He is doing brilliantly, averaging 320km a day.

Joss’s dot has disappeared. Suspect it’ll be a technical gremlin. Hopefully we’ll see a Strava update soon.

edit: found him … he was behind #78. Can see his dot when zoomed in.

Just been comparing TCR stats...

Christoph Strasser, currently leading the field and clearly some sort of machine, has been moving for 82% of the time  :o  Our Josser, currently in 76th place, borderline sensible, has spent 40% of the time resting / asleep

Keep going Josser, you're doing great!

Indeed, Josser seems to be pacing things very well and moving up the field! There are a lot of DNFs now, and glancing at their stats you can guess why: too fast at first/not enough sleep/food/drink, or just not fit enough, I would say. There will likely be mechanicals, illness and other issues that I'm not aware of too.

Joss is through CP3 in 71st position.

Now on the mandatory section before heading across to Serbia and Romania.

Tap on details slide out, search for Joss, tap star next to name, toggle favourites filter. It will now remove other riders so you can see him.  Add other riders to favourites as necessary.

Exactly what I had done. I am also following #78, hence when they were together I could only see one dot until I zoomed in very close.

Yes. Joss knows him from a prior race, and introduced me as we were both riding Italy Divide earlier this year.

TCR’s Instagram feed is quite good, not spotted our josser yet. Rider 42, Marin, who’s in 6th, has slept outside every night and is surviving on one pair of bib shorts and a packet of wet wipes!  I wonder if his no doubt distinctive odour will make him more or less attractive to bears and wolves?

Josser is over the Danube and on the run in.  Looks like the last couple of days have been challenging and I have not followed as closely as I meant to.

Can’t tell if he will push through or take a break and finish tomorrow.

Joss is finishing tomorrow. He should be in good time before the finisher’s party tomorrow evening.

On Saturday, as part of my prep for ACME goes Dutch, I shall attempt this 88 mile route.

If you fancy joining me feel free to meet for breakfast at D's Diner, Hatty P, at 8am.  Pace will be gentle with lots of stops.

Enjoy.   I would offer coffee as you pass through the village late on but we are off to a gig at Audley End.
