_My_ shiny thing
« on: 17 May, 2008, 02:18:16 pm »
I was the recipient of small package in the post this morning - a new Asus EeePC 900  :)

I appear to have lost it to Clare (who has just arrived back from the hairdresser sporting rather RED hair).
Welcome to the inaugural meeting of the Charlotte Barnes Appreciation Society. Imitation is the sincerest form of stalking flattery.

Why is she messing around on the PC when there is a bike needing building behind her?

sadly that's the one that was mangled last year by a SMIDSY in Guildford, it needs to go to the tip, but we keep forgetting to take it.

A visit from Mr. Hacksaw will make it fit in the wheelie bin, surely.  Reuse that pannier rack though.
Shoes off the white sofa, please.

Yebbut, the rack's a bit Banananananana-shaped:

It's got a Clio sized dent in it.

aaaaahhhh,
a woman chemist called Clare, with red hair, a bike frame in the background.... (you copycat!)
all I need to complete this scene is the eeePC, and I'm trying very hard to resist.

Forget the white sofas though - we've got 2 black cats for chris'sakes!  ;D
Do not clench. It only makes it worse.

You're safe, I haven't chemisted for years, an attempt at a PhD with two dinosaurs for supervisors did for that.

As for the sofa, we're renting furnished, it isn't ours (thankfully).

It seems appropriate that I'm sitting here reading this thread on my EeePC ! ...and probably not the only one, given the previous "I want an EeePC" threads at another place. ;D
Actually, it is rocket science.

Thanks  ;D
My hairdresser was very apprehensive about the colour and kept saying "It's going to be really *red* you know." while she was applying the dye; but when she saw the results and my huge grin she calmed down.

Now be a good girl and give the shiny thing back to Vernon...  :P

I don't have a problem with it, and my fingers aren't particularly small.  On the other hand, I've spent the last 30+ years typing on a variety of 'orrible keyboards, starting with things like a CBM PET 2001 and Acorn System 1, neither of which are particularly noted for their impressive keyboards!
Actually, it is rocket science.

In its defence, the keyboard is not too difficult to use, but you don't win any prizes for speed. I'll probably improve with practise.

Nor me.

I have big banana fingers and it works for me.  I'm using it now in fact.
