Have you been out with your camera today?
« on: 21 April, 2012, 10:29:21 pm »
Today I have mostly been shooting a band.  This suave looking bunch of punk rockers are House Party Massacre and by the look of their website, they're badly in need of some better images.  We did a spot of civil trespass and shot a few cool looking frames in a disused factory building in West London.  Here's my favourite:

They're a punk band, so naturally they're public school sixth formers.  ;D

I took my.camera for a trip round Essex, and didn't take a single exposure.  Not even in the presence of the Cool Hair.
Getting there...

Don't - the little darlings must have smoked their way through several kilos of tobacco whilst we were on location.  Mind you, when the shoot was over, they asked for directions to the nearest McDonalds...

We went to synchronised swimming yesterday - one of the Olympic preparation and qualification events. I know nothing of this sport - it was mostly for my daughter. However, the pictures it produced are probably some of the more unusual I have taken. Contrast could be better, but here are a few:

I am perfectly prepared to believe the claims made that it requires strength, stamina, athleticism and performance. Think I'll stick to watching cycling though ;D

My brother and sister bought me some macro bellows for my birthday and I've been having fun with them this weekend. My favourite so far is some video I got of what I believe is a solitary mining bee:

Their web designer also needs to be told that using a big stack of 2835x1890px images at 110x73px on the thumbnails page is evil. That one page comes in at over 56MB!

I told them as soon as I saw how badly it sucks.  I'd suggest that they give BRD a call, but I suspect that their web design budget is about the same as their photographic budget...

Went down to the church allotment project. It is a few weeks (OK months) behind schedule having only been launched this year. It was a good chance to play with the extension tubes and the 135mm lens.
