I'd gladly organise a ride in Essex somewhere, but I'd suggest that our roads are much nastier at the moment than any off-road you've ever attempted.
There is always Richmond Park, but I don't know what its roads are like at the moment...

We Long Haul Trucked around the passable bits of Richmond Park today. It's clear and gritted from Roehampton Gate to Richmond Gate to Kingston Gate. The rest is an ice rink.

Congratulations on your n+1! You will not be disappointed. :) Ours even carried us over several nasty bits of solid ice today, on our intrepid ride from Richmond Park to Hampton Court Palace (for cream teas and chocolate brownies :D ) and back in pretty heavy snow showers via Bushy Park, Teddington, Chiswick and a section of the Thames Path. (OK, I wimped out of one shot-ice section when I skidded and almost came a cropper.)

However, once you've ridden it you might not have the same loving relationship with your other bikes. I've not ridden any of mine since Milly the LHT came into my life. :-\

Oh Tim, what a wit you are ::-) ;D

So we can't tempt you then?

See, perfect for the weather. ;D
Actually, it is rocket science.

The LHT looks just like I have Fred set up. A slightly sporty full on tourer.

Though without all the seized bolts.

I wouldn't call my LHT terribly sporty. I'm really slow on it. http://www.youtube.com/v/zV1zK8zRCPo&rel=1;D

Miss Nada Joseph, a 20 year old Ivoirian, wants to give me 30% of the $6.2 million her father left her in a secret bank account, in exchange for me helping her move it out of the reach of her wicked uncle, & guide her in investing it. All I have to do to get things rolling is e-mail her Chinese e-mail address . . .

Thanks Peli. So it's currently not possible to do a full loop, that's a bit of a shame...

(The answer is still no, Tim ::-))

Tomorrow Chris Evans starts his R2 breakfast show, with a slightly different time slot from what Terry Wogan had, so as my clock radio doesn't come on till 7am, I don't have to hear Sarah Kennedy ever again!

That really IS good news. Probably only second to hearing that SK had got fired for being a dull, irritating cow.

Is this the same S.K. that as a Nationwide presenter advertised on air for a prospective father for her planned children?

That is so thoroughly romantic.

I was chuffed to bits when my son-in-law phoned to ask my permission to propose to my daughter. I didn't think that sort of thing happened any more.

I asked Mrs. TKP's Father for his permission. (We had just chosen the ring though).

My daughter told Mrs. Jogler over Xmas that her partner will be doing the traditional thing when they decide to tie the knot.
I too imagined it was a dead tradition.

It's finally official — I'm being promoted! ;D

I've known for nearly two weeks, the paperwork was signed on Monday, but it wasn't announced until this morning.

;D Andrij. I pronounce you Complete and Utter GIT

Well done. Big pay rise, I presume, to reflect your value. ;)

What's the n+1 to celebrate to be? ;)
Getting there...

Cheers :)

I know what I'd like the n+1 to be, but:
1) I need to renew my efforts for adopting the 'Bike to Work' scheme here first;
2) even if I manage 1) it wouldn't cover the costs of n+1

Being realistic, n+1 will be either a touring bike or a fixed/ss commuter.

Well done Andrij!

I've just stuffed myself in the Virgin Upper Class lounge.

But I felt I stuck out like a sore thumb amonst the perfectly-coiffed with their LV matching luggage and sloany children. :)

I just had to google "LV".

Louis Vuitton. Do they do panniers & barbags then?
