We Long Haul Trucked around the passable bits of Richmond Park today. It's clear and gritted from Roehampton Gate to Richmond Gate to Kingston Gate. The rest is an ice rink.

Ours even carried us over several nasty bits of solid ice today, on our intrepid ride from Richmond Park to Hampton Court Palace (for cream teas and chocolate brownies

) and back in pretty heavy snow showers via Bushy Park, Teddington, Chiswick and a section of the Thames Path. (OK, I wimped out of one shot-ice section when I skidded and almost came a cropper.)

However, once you've ridden it you might not have the same loving relationship with your other bikes. I've not ridden any of mine since Milly the LHT came into my life. $:-\$

The LHT looks just like I have Fred set up. A slightly sporty full on tourer.

Though without all the seized bolts.

Tomorrow Chris Evans starts his R2 breakfast show, with a slightly different time slot from what Terry Wogan had, so as my clock radio doesn't come on till 7am, I don't have to hear Sarah Kennedy ever again!

Her partner called my Dad yesterday to formally ask his permission. Then tonight, he proposed to her on Richmond bridge

I was chuffed to bits when my son-in-law phoned to ask my permission to propose to my daughter. I didn't think that sort of thing happened any more.

I know what I'd like the n+1 to be, but:
1) I need to renew my efforts for adopting the 'Bike to Work' scheme here first;
2) even if I manage 1) it wouldn't cover the costs of n+1

Being realistic, n+1 will be either a touring bike or a fixed/ss commuter.
